Episode 418 – “Ghosts of the Sunshine State”

Ocala, FL: Seven Sisters Inn
TAPS and Ghost Hunters were in Florida to investigate an inn that is a hotbed of paranormal activity. This unique property consists of two Victorian manors: The Historic Scott House (pink house) and the Seven Sisters International House (purple house). They were built in 1888 and 1892 respectively and are believed to house more than just paying guests. On a nearby knoll stood Fort King, important military outpost during the removal of the Florida Indians. Adjacent to a Seminole Agency established in 1825, it was named for Col. William King and first occupied in 1827. Outside its stockade, on December 28, 1835, warriors led by Osceola ambushed and killed Gen. Wiley Thompson at Fort King and four others. On this same day many soldiers died from their battle injuries, which according to legend is the very spot in which the Seven Sisters Historic Scott House was built. Apparitions of men, women and children have been reported throughout the entire Pink House. Recently the manager was on his way to the second floor when he spotted a pair of children’s shoes at the top of the stairs. He stopped and all at once the face of a little boy dressed in white was peeking around the corner at him and then quickly disappeared. This same little boy has also been seen by guests and other staff members as well. A child’s voice has been heard calling “Mommy…..Mommy!” The house prior to the Scott House on the same site was destroyed by fire. When candles were lit for a wedding at they were blown out several times by an unseen guest. These are just a few of the unique occurances that take place here.
The Purple House was also the site of a terrible fire. Many have the sense that there are unseen joksters in this house. Various things get moved around, foot steps walking down the hall and a tumbling sound down the back stair case just to name a few incidents.
In this episode of TAPS and Ghost Hunters the stars of the show Grant and Jason have some experiences of their own! The Seven Sisters Historic Inn has a rich history in itself and the paranormal history is the icing on the cake.
